An ingrown toenail appears on one side of the nail underneath the skin and each person who has it has a struggle.
There are many surgical and conventional methods which can solve the issue, but you can skip the treatments which are uncomfortable and expensive and solve the problem on your own at your home.
This is possible when there are no signs of complications.
How to remove an ingrown toenail without any surgery
First of all, you should make both your skin and nails softer by having a hot bath.
Add 3 tablespoons of baking soda in about 5 liters of water. Also, you can put some salt in it. Make sure that the water temperature doesn’t go beyond 37 C. Then, you can pull out your ingrown nail. You should apply a sticking plaster on the affected area of the ingrown toenail. Thanks to this method, your toenail will become more accessible.
Next, it is recommended to place a bit of cotton between the nail and skin as well as use tweezers in order to slightly raise the nail at its end.
It is of a great importance to apply antibacterial cream, i.e., iodine on the cotton before placing it on the affected area. The time before you change the cotton and the wrapper is 24 hours.
This technique needs to be done for 15 day and the nail must be back in the ordinary condition.
If you find hard to put the cotton between the skin and the nail, use a mixture of 1tbs of raw honey with 1 garlic clove(ground) or Aloe Vera on the area that is affected as this mixture(cream) has powerful antiseptic properties.
The most important thing is to soften the skin and change the cotton that has been used during the procedure daily. Once you are finished with the procedure, scrape the outer part of the nail.
